Sentinel® CommandPostTM
Sentinel® CommandPostTM is a portable,
on-location emergency call center solution.
It provides cost-effective backup with
complete Sentinel 9-1-1 call-handling in
temporary locations outside mission-critical
communications centers, such as at the scene
of a disaster, during severe weather
situations, evacuations or hostage-taking.
Packed in a watertight case with foam
padding, Sentinel CommandPost provides a
laptop computer, cables and connectors
enabling call centers to operate remotely
and successfully.
Sentinel CommandPost runs the same software
as the Sentinel® PatriotTM 9-1-1 workstation
with the exception of the following:
Sentinel CommandPost does not include
PlantCML’s proprietary CIM sound card and
its associated call taker and supervisor
headset ports, radio bypass port, logging
recorder port and relays. Additionally,
Sentinel CommandPost does not currently
support the Sentinel Patriot 9-1-1’s
optional Instant Replay Recorder (IRR).
Sentinel CommandPost supports the following
major functions:
Sentinel CommandPost weighs less than ten
pounds and each unit carries complete
instructions to make setup as easy and quick
as possible. The system requires high-speed
Internet access; wire-line access is
recommended for high quality service.
PlantCML recommends 375k b/s of bandwidth in
each direction, which allows for Sentinel
CommandPost to host a four-party conference.
With Sentinel CommandPost, 9-1-1 calls can
be transferred for dispatching allowing
non-essential calls to be shielded and
offering dispatchers uninterrupted focus to
deal with urgent calls during heavy call
volume.
Customers must purchase a headset for each
Sentinel CommandPost. PlantCML has tested
and recommends the purchase of either the GN
Netcom 8110 or Plantronics DA-55 headset
adapter with the customer’s preferred
headset.
PlantCML products are sold, implemented and
maintained by our channel distribution
partners. We also provide flexible and
reliable service and support. For more
